P eople eat honey from time immemorial. Honey bees are one of the oldest living beings that inhabit the Earth. The remains of the bees were found in the Cretaceous deposits. It indicates that bees have appeared on the Earth for thousands of years before the appearance of man.
The beekeeping is one of the oldest human occupation. There are petroglyphs, which depict the primitive “beekeepers” who collect honey. This picture, according to scientists, has more than 15,000 years.
Honey is mentioned in the Bible, especially the book of Psalms. King David describes his relationship to the Word of God: "How sweet are the words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!" (Ps.118: 103).
